Brooke and Trey...Summer's softest shades I like to heavily backlight my outside portraits. I love the translucence and defining highlights on the hair and edges. There is a certain rhythm to photographing children. To capture the grace of a child in motion requires a quick eye and a unique sense of timing. "Brooke and Trey" a classic portrait rendered with the ease of the everyday. |

Philosophy... OUTSIDE PORTRAITS Whether in our studio garden or on location, photographing people in an outdoor setting can set a different mood and feeling to a portrait. When it comes to photographing children, we try to provide an environment where children are unaware that they are being photographed. The photo shoot becomes playtime where children, in a gently controlled environment, are allowed to do their own thing. Children have limited patience. The length of that patience depends on how much fun they are having. The end results are more natural, beautiful portraits. If the children haven't had fun- we haven't done our job. We will initially discuss the portrait with you either in person or on the phone, depending on your distance from the studio. The emphasis at this time is to understand what you envision. Such things as mood, composition, clothing, setting, size, where the portrait will hang, and price are addressed. All of these things will help to ultimately attain a portrait that provides a lifetime of enjoyment. |
